5 Things To Consider Before You Buy The Thinx Period -Proof Panties
Bleeding from your nether region isn't exactly a topic most women like to discuss openly. Periods have always been a taboo topic. Your period isn't something that should make people shudder and hide their faces and THINX is breaking down barriers to make period talk common, public and acceptable.
When THINX asked to send me their panties for a review, I was excited because I wanted to try them and coincidentally, I had just talked to my best friend about buying a pair.
After trying the Hiphugger and Sport Panties for a cycle, I've come up with five things you should consider before purchasing the product. Keep reading for the video review and discount code!
5 THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE BUYING SHE THINX PERIOD PANTIES
1. HOW HEAVY IS YOUR FLOW?
Listen: YA GIRL's FLOW AIN'T NO JOKE.
My day one flow is something like a mighty rushing flood. TMI? Sorry but you need the info. THNX underwear are not a one-size fit all type of product. You really need to be aware of your flow type when wearing the underwear. They have a range from the lightest to the heaviest flow.
The heaviest holds 2 tampons worth. For me on day 1, that is about 9-10 hours of wear. For other ladies I've read it's lasted 15-20 hours.
2. DO YOU WANT TO REPLACE TRADITIONAL OPTIONS?
The product can certainly replace traditional menstruation products. Just be sure to know your flow as mentioned in the previous consideration. (Unlike me, wearing the wrong panties on the wrong day.)
3. YOUR SHAPE
If I were to start this journey over, I would choose the high waist panties or boyshort as my heavy day, and the cheeky for my medium day. Honestly I don't know why I did not choose those in the first place as my regular panties are often those type. Duh Tiff.
They were comfortable, don't get me wrong but the other options may have fit my body better. Ya live ya learn.
4. IS IT WORTH THE INVESTMENT?
In short, yes.
If you care about the environment and don't enjoy sticking things inside you, a set of underwear will certainly pay themselves off after a year of cycles. Menstrual products aren't really cheap at all, so you may as well buy something you can reuse. These panties hold up really well, and you will mostly be hand washing them, which will preserve them even longer.
5. HOW MANY SHOULD I BUY?
In the case that you want a pair to back up your tampon or diva cup, you would be able to get away with one or two light - medium day undies. If you are ready to ban all other products from your life, you definitely should consider a full set. Luckily they offer a discount to buy multiple pairs so you can create your own set.
If you don't want to replace your products but have a nice backup to traditional panty liners, 1 pair of the lighter weight underwear will definitely save you money on pantyliners
As a whole, the product is excellent and will be a great addition to your period battling arsenal! Head over to THINX and use coupon code TIFFANYTHINX for $5 off your order.
