5 Easy Ways To Infuse Your Personality Into Your Style
Build authority before you speak a word.
That is your ultimate goal.
You want to speak to your audience without saying anything. We can't forget the balance of finding a way to continuously express your personality. Allowing your audience to get to know you will cause them to connect to you and your message.
This post will teach you exactly how to infuse your personality into your style in a way that reflects your message, highlights your best features, and builds rapport.
Let's jump right into 5 Easy Ways To Infuse Your Personality Into Your Style!
1. COLOR
If you've been following along with me, you already know of my color obsession. I thoroughly enjoy color theory and understand that color us a way to express many different emotions and feelings as well as show our personality.
Color is the number one way to bring your personality to the surface. Finding the colors that look best on you (ones that are harmonizing with your skin) will cause you to light up.
Yep, that's right, you'll be bringing the sunshine.
A common misconception about this particular topic is that people believe that if they don't look good in bright colors, they assume they don't look good in color at all. My dear friend, I dropped by to tell you today that there is a set of colors that look great on you!
2. UNIQUE ACCESSORIES
Wearing a stand out accessory is a great way to express your personality. They are great conversation starters as well and helps to break the ice – it is much easier to start a conversation by complimenting someone or asking them about something they are wearing.
What I recommend is that you shop at thrift and vintage shops to find items that you love. If you don't go for the second hand glory, local boutiques and handmade artist will have beautifully made pieces that will knock your socks off.
3. WEAR SOMETHING IN A DIFFERENT WAY
This is a really fun way to grab attention and show off your creative skills! Start to look at your items with a different lens and find other ways to use them. For example, a scarf can become a belt or a head wrap (like pictured), a necklace could be a beautiful headband, and a headband can become a bracelet. The possibilities are totally endless (you can find me wear a thrifted crochet blanket as a scarf on this recent Instagram post!
4. HIGHLIGHT YOUR FAVORITE FEATURE
This is my favorite part, ya'll.
Highlight your absolute favorite feature on your face or body. I say favorite because I really don't want you thinking of your body as this love-hate relationship (love my eyes, hate my nose etc) I just want you to be thing I really love my back. That's it.
Anyway, highlighting your absolute favorite feature is sure to draw confidence right out of you.
I like to do this with my legs. )I promise I am not bragging guys, this is just what I do) I wear shorter skirts with colored tights, or pants that fit the curves of my legs. Whenever I slide into a pair high-waist skinny jeans, I feel like I'm floating. (Yeah, a little corny/dramatic, but I can't deny what's inside, ya'll!)
The best thing about highlighting your favorite feature is hands down the way that it makes you feel about your appearance.
5. HAVE A SIGNATURE LOOK
Having a specific look that is unique to you is about create a combination of styles that make you stand out. For me my bright colors, glasses and coordinating headbands are associated with my style and reflects my (relatively loud) personality.
Here is another place where vintage and thrift shops will come in handy. and will wear repeatedly. I have friends who are never caught without a vintage pin, friends who love to have different patterned shoes and friends who are never seen without a hat on.
The last thing I want you to think about is your audience. The way I approach style as a stylist is much different. My audience expects me to wear off-beat colorful clothing that represents my knowledge as a stylist. Always consider your event, and your audience and you will be golden every time!
