HOW TO WEAR YOUR ROMPER FOR FALL
Oh, the romper! It is pretty much summer's go-to piece because it is easy, breezy and so adorable. It is sometimes to hard to let go of a good thing. Continue reading to see how to wear your romper for fall.
If you have ever been to the Midwest, you would know that the weather is pretty much like a temperamental baby. You never know when it will be up or down. It's been 80- 90 degrees since fall began so I've been clinging to my summer items but still wanting to look like I am in the fall season. Since it has been warm, I will first show you how I dress my romper for the fall transition weather.
ADD A LONG JACKET
Tiff, does it really need to be a long jacket?
The short answer: not really.
The long answer:
If you would like to add visual interest along with a more seasonally appropriate look, a long jacket will help you accomplish both. Having a jacket that is longer than the item you are wearing it creates a layered look that is not as interesting as a short jean jacket or blazer.
ADD A BELT
Sure you can wear a belt in the summer, but did you REALLY want to? IF you are like me, you got as close to naked as possible in the summer months, but with cooler temperatures, you can add a chunky leather belt without fear of back sweat pooling around it. Gross? Of course but I'm just trying to prove a point. Plus you know I'm right!
The belt also assists with the proportion of the entire look, balancing out the long jacket and creating a "third" in your outfit. Lastly, it balances out the oversized jacket by drawing emphasis to the smallest part of your waist, helping to keep the look feminine.
ADD TALL BOOTS
There is nothing more fall appropriate than a classic pair of tall leather heeled boots. The height is important because it instantly takes the romper from summer to fall with ease.
HOW TO WEAR YOUR ROMPER FOR FALL
As the temperature drop even further, you can add a few more items:
- Long sleeved shirt
- Tights
- Scarf
- Sweater under the jacket
These pieces will definitely add additional warmth and the layers will create even more visual interest.
