The Summer Of Self Love 90- Day Challenge

My life has been trash.


Yes, that sounds dramatic but it is unfortunately, true. This season sucks and I have to do something about it.


After losing my mom in 2022, it feels like my tether to this earth has been broken. My sense of self has been slowly declining and it feels like I am starting over completely. Grief truly changed me and a lot of my coping mechanisms and routines that worked doesn’t anymore. 

A lot of what's happening is out of my control BUT I can control my attitude and work to feel better about my situation. 

I've let my circumstances damage my self-image. I’ve always been good at being optimistic even when things look bleak, but lately, I have felt defeated.

I believe in myself less.

I feel like an imposter.


I feel useless.

And most of all, I feel ashamed because my life doesn’t look like I think it should. 


I forgot who tf I was. Listen, logically I KNOW I am still a pretty dope person who has accomplished a lot, but my heart ain’t feeling it. 


Even though my current state is not my fault, I plan to get into a better position, because even though I am currently struggling, at my core I believe that I have time. I think that this is temporary. 

And I refuse to base my self-image on temporary circumstances. 


That’s why I have declared the summer of 2024 the Summer of Self Love.


June - August is perfect for a 90-day challenge to reclaim my joy, improve my energy, and renew my passion for life.


I am working towards getting to a place where my sense of self is unshakable despite what is happening around me.


Overall Goal: BECOME MY HAPPIEST, HEALTHIEST SELF AND REIGNITE MY CREATIVITY AND PASSION FOR LIFE.

I plan to focus on changing my habits and aligning my actions with the goals I have for my life.

Here are my goals and how I plan to work towards them:

Goal 1: Increase Energy Levels 

  • Drink 3 bottles of water daily and eat more fruits and veggies for better hydration

  • Improve mobility and flexibility by engaging 5 -10 minutes of mobility work daily

  • Build stamina by engaging in 20 - 30 minutes of cardio 3x weekly

  • Consistent strength training (3x weekly)

  • Improve nutrition by being intentional about preparing food at home. 


Goal 2: Reconnect With My Mind and Body

  • Regular solo dates

  • Purge and clean the whole house

  • Daily Journaling 

  • Read 3-5 books (Self-development and fiction)


Goal 3: Honor Self Expression


  • Create more for the sake of creating 

  • Take an art class

  • Developing consistent style and cleaning out my closet for good



HOW?

  • Establish consistent morning/night routines and work habits in them

  • Slowing down and being intentional about my actions (but also giving grace when it isn't perfect)


STOP

  • Watching TV late into the night

  • Excessive mindless scrolling
